My confidence has grown and grown ... now being able to see the conductor’s baton;

I can count the rests and see the down beat distinguishing clearly between the time signatures.

My head is up, watching him and I can look back down to the music and track back to where I was previously on the sheet music. I play louder now and look forward to gigs, excited at the chance to play.

Previously when the player next to me stopped I too would stop.... no more!

Now I carry on playing. I am not scared of the solo part and can get quite protective of this I don't like other instruments playing my cues.

I still use the printed green paper as a preference as it is easier to use although not always needed now, it feels much more comfortable. However I no longer get headaches from the white paper. Where I can I still use the overlay in rehearsals but practically it can be quite fiddly when turning pages if playing a long piece or

concert.

a concert.
